Finding Us by Tracie Peterson

Very similar to the first book yet entirely different. You don't think of the evil people who attend events like the Expo in Seattle 1909. This continuation is a wonderful story of Eleanor who is there to work with a camera at the Expo until the event is over, but loves botany. She meets a botanist also working there, who had been living in Alaska and had recently been on a ship that sank getting to Seattle. There the plot thickens and it's hard to put it down. Characters you'd like to know. Strong lessons of faith. Excellent story.

Synopsis
One candid photograph will change the lives of four people forever.

While taking photographs at an exposition in Seattle in 1909, Camera Girl Eleanor Bennett snaps an image of a woman in widow's clothes with deep sorrow etched in her expression and a young infant in her arms.

Eleanor longs to study botany at the University of Washington and soon becomes fast friends with botanist Bill Reed, but she can't stop thinking about the widow in the photograph. She is stunned to learn Bill recognizes the woman as the sister-in-law he believed lost in a shipwreck.

As Eleanor and Bill hunt for Amelia Reed to reunite her with her grief-stricken husband, they must stand together to face the danger that follows and learn to trust that God will direct their paths.

Remember Me by Tracie Peterson

1902. What an amazing ride of a story. Tracie is so good at drawing the pictures in her stories, and for using great lessons of faith to highlight the paths. This is another book where you feel totally invested in these people. I found myself praising God in the victories! When teenagers, Addie and Isaac met in the Yukon and promised themselves to each other. He left intending to come back, but it took years. In the meantime, the cruelty of her father and brothers changed her life. Fascinating story of strength even through abuse; what an amazing and uplifting girl. The story builds fast. It got so it was almost impossible to put down, right straight through to the end. Classic Tracie Peterson - never disappoints!

This is the first book in a new series, I already can't wait for the next one! In this multifaceted story, you quickly get to know and become attached to the characters. It's 1888 in Seattle, Washington at Miss Madison's school for brides. Lenore comes from a wealthy family, and her father's offices are in the same building as the school. Her father feels that it is time his daughter wed, so he's scouting for a husband for her.  Abrianna, Miss Madison's niece, doesn't do well learning the basic skills or social graces. Her interests lie in helping the poor and indigent; a calling from God.  Each of the girls counsel the other - Lenore helps Abrianna in social skills and Abrianna helps Lenore in spiritual study.

Kolbein comes to town looking for his sister, whom he has  tracked to Seattle. He comes to the school to look for her and when she's not to be found there enlists their help. Wade has been working at and coming to the school for many years and is a lifelong friend to Abrianna.

Priam wants to buy the property where the school is to expand his business, but the ladies don't wish to sell for many personal reasons. Then people are being killed and left outside their doors. Is there a connection?

Excellent read! Another book that you aren't ready for it to end.
