While the City Sleeps by Elizabeth Camden

Wow. Keep this with you as you will have a hard time not reading straight through. So very real. 1913 New York City, showcases people who work at night in the city that never sleeps, and keep it running. A theme of starting over and sheltering yourself from past inflicted pain. Excruciating romance that builds.  People who are strong and willing to work hard, giving to others. Tense. More than excellent read!

Cabrini movie trailer

Based on the true story of one woman’s fight for the equality, health, and happiness of immigrant orphans.

Looks like this will be another impactful movie. Showcases the horrible conditions of Five Points and New York City in 1889. These conditions were incredibly bad for all nationalities that lived there.

Synopsis:
From Alejandro Monteverde, award-winning director of 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮, comes the powerful epic of Francesca Cabrini, an Italian immigrant who arrives in New York City in 1889 and is greeted by disease, crime, and impoverished children. Cabrini sets off on a daring mission to convince the hostile mayor to secure housing and healthcare for society's most vulnerable. With broken English and poor health, Cabrini uses her entrepreneurial mind to build an empire of hope unlike anything the world had ever seen.

Release Date: 3/8

Still My Forever by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Christian Historical Romance 1905
Cute romance. Ava and Gil were close until he left town, when she chose not to go with him. Her mother was sick, they had lost her two young brothers and she didn't feel she could leave them. Gil had been in N.Y. City learning to be a composer but hadn't had the best results. He came home for the summer to regroup, intending to go back to N.Y. to teach, then life got in the way and God's plans for the two evolved. Interesting, heartfelt tale. Makes you feel like cheering by the end!
