Part of a series but good as a stand-alone. Two intelligent, independent people come together in England over a love of history. A professor who is a family friend and an American who had recently been united with her grandmother. Intrigue of family and society, with backstabbing people on both sides. In a search around the grounds, she finds a rare book that may uncover an ancient mystery. He needs it to advance his career. They have to work through a lot of issues, and it's interesting to be a bystander and watch, rooting for them both. Good read!
I received this book free from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
