The End: The Book by Jerry Robb

Jerry Robb is an interesting man. He's written a series of books where he illustrates the book of Revelations from the bible. He felt that it was important to explain to people how things are going to go in the End Times, and he's done a fantastic job, with some help from the Lord (read his preface in the book). This is one that's written in a way that will appeal to the guys as well as women.
I agree with Jerry that it's important for everyone to hear and understand about Jesus our Savior and the life that he offers for us. It's life threatening. You can also say that testimonies like these will show non-believers how true it is once the rapture happens and they're looking for answers. You'll find many things in the headlines today.

Here's information from Jerry's publicist:

Born January 25, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia, the journey from birth to author of 7 books is an intriguing story in itself, and book-worthy.
Robb was also born into a world-wide pandemic. Like the pandemic the world is experiencing today, polio was also viral. There was no vaccine.
At age 5, polio hit High Point, N.C, where Robb lived, so he was sent to live with relatives in Georgia. It was there that Robb got his first taste of Aunt Kiki’s Bible. At age 10, he read the Book of Revelation and has been hooked since.
He left home at 16, graduated from high school, joined the Navy from 1968-74 where he served as Hospital Corpsman, graduated from NC State University with a degree in Zoology, became sales manager for major medical company. Then he and a few friends opened what Billboard Magazine branded as Atlanta’s Hottest Disco. The drift away from the God he grew up knowing, continued.
In 1979 Robb revisited Revelation and was hooked again. It seemed it was happening. He decided to read the Bible, starting on page 1; and 6 months later was hooked on the entire Book.
In 2000, age 53, he said he started getting a calling to write a book series when he would pray. After 10 years of hearing that voice, he thought maybe it was God. At age 63 he decided to take the journey if God would help him since he had never written a novel. This is where his story gets interesting.
He began to have a series of dreams telling him what to write; and he would wake up, write it on a post-it and stick on the bathroom mirror. He said he knew they were messages because, “I could have never in a million years thought up the story I wrote.”
In 2010 he began to write and the journey lasted 9 years. During that time, Robb dealt with prostate cancer, malignant melanoma, open-heart surgery, Bell’s Palsy and 2 minor strokes.
He trudged on, never quitting, trying to finish before health problems did him in.  A friend suggested he was really ticking off Satan and to keep up the good writing.
Apparently he did, as his much talked about The End-The Book-The Series, a 7-book series about prophecies that have not yet happened, is rated 4-5 stars in Amazon Reviews.
“If it was not for the polio pandemic, I probably would have never read Revelation.”

Now 73, he admits it was quite a journey; and the dreams kept him going.

A Perfect Silhouette by Judith Miller

Sweet Christian Historical Romance. Mellie is from a well to do family whose reputation and finances suffered thanks to her brother in law. So that she could make more money, she gave up her job as a tutor to work in the mills to help support her sister and her family. While in school, she had learned a talent for Scherenschnitte, paper silhouette cutting. Since additional income was needed, she found a shop in town where she earned extra money doing Scherenschnitte.
Morgan is the mill owners son. Returning home from being away at school, he wants to learn ways to improve the mills and put his engineering degree to work. To be more efficient, he went to work there under an assumed name. This is an intricate story involving likable characters, and you'll find yourself rooting for them. Lessons of forgiveness and God's love throughout the story. As is typical for Judith Miller, this is well researched and she brings to life what it must have been like to work in the mills at that time. It was an important business for our country, but working conditions were terrible. Such a good story I didn't want it to end. I'm hoping for a sequel!

Secrets of My Heart by Tracie Peterson

Portland, Oregon March 1879 Fabulous read - as are all of Tracie's books. Full of Christian lessons and wisdom for anyone trying to find their way in the world. The perceptions that we have can be so skewed, even though we feel we have reasoned out everything properly. We have that reasoning ability, but limited knowledge, even though we think we know it all. How do I know this?
Nancy is newly widowed, but doesn't know everything her deceased husband had been doing. Seth is a family friend who had originally been assigned the job of investigating a couple for Indian Affairs, but didn't realize that one of these people was Nancy until his investigation began in Portland. Deftly woven tale of mystery and discovery, for Nancy personally and of the crime. Takes place at a time of Indian displacement on Reservations that kept changing as their land was desired by men who didn't care about them, or anyone except themselves and their personal gain. A time of great discrimination.  Part of this family are Missionaries from a previous series. It's not necessary to read the other series first, but you will be glad if you do since they are such good reading.

The Green Dress by Liz Tolsma

Massachusetts 1886
Harriet is a milliner who has been building her business nicely when she gets a note from her best friend that she needs her. Harriet rushes to her side, and promises to take care of the children. Mrs Robinson and Jane had taken Harriet in some time back when she had run away from a bad situation at home.  They even helped her to get started in her business. Things start going very wrong at the Robinson house and the mystery builds. This author is so skilled that even though you guess what happened, it never gets boring and holds your interest to the end. This is based on a true horror story.  Good read. Christian Historical Fiction

Unyielding Hope by Janette Oke; Laurel Oke Logan

A story of Home Children who were sent from England to Canada. Lillian has lost her mother and is about to travel overseas with her adopted father when she is made aware of her birth parents' estate in the US and that her sister had actually survived. She stays behind determined to find her sister. Even though others had already tried to find her sister, Lillian's insight makes it possible. When she finds Grace, she learns that she has been caring for outcasts from an orphanage and then becomes involved herself.  A very interesting story of love in a family of a different kind. It brings to life what was possible in the lives of children who were taken away, with no control, from their country and given away, often with no follow up.
It takes special people to be foster her parents. I am acquainted with a young woman who has such a heart for children. I have the utmost respect for her and her family, and the difficulties they have been though. And that's without changing countries. This book has beautiful and special characters to get to know. God's lessons and wisdom unfold. I can't wait until the next book!
