Unending Hope by Cindy Kay Stewart, Circle of Hope book 2

Captivating. Oh my heart what an intense journey for Natalie and David, as well as the rest of the Circle of Hope. They'd both been through so much and had learned much. They both continued to grow in faith and strength, learning to trust and love one another. Their story will keep you holding your breath to the end as they travel history's road. You have to love it - makes you eager for another until awful WW2 is over.

I received this book free from the author, publisher and CelebrateLit book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

As WWII expands across Europe, members of the Circle of Hope are drawn deeper into the struggle to survive in the face of overwhelming adversity.

Natalie, a dedicated Red Cross worker, values deep relationships. Fearful of settling for a shallow marriage, she broke off her engagement to David several years before. But she never stopped loving him and spending time working together in Norway plays havoc with her heart.

David, a charismatic and confidant doctor with the Red Cross, desires to advance his career and rekindle his relationship with Natalie. Even though she once rejected him, he believes she is the only woman for him. The saga introduced in Abounding Hope continues in this inspiring second installment of courage and devotion.

More from Cindy

Those who love learning about bygone eras through fiction, will enjoy escaping to WWII Norway and France in Unending Hope, Book 2 in the Circle of Hope series. This novel follows the adventures of former boarding school classmates who vowed to come to each other’s aid in times of crisis, and WWII provides plenty of trouble for these diehard twenty-somethings to work through. Abounding Hope, Book 1 in the series, is a friends-to-lovers romance, and Unending Hope is a second-chance romance. The novels are sequential to the timeline of WWII.

As well as struggling to safely navigate their responsibilities, the major characters in both novels seek answers to their needs and problems, which can only be found by embarking on a spiritual journey that’s just as climactic as their physical adventures.

I love to research and dig up true stories I’ve never heard about or seen before and then share the most interesting ones through the lives of my characters. Bringing history to life is an adventure for me, and keeping my stories historically accurate is a goal I always strive to meet.

The Lumber Baron's Wife by Lynn Austin

Haunting story. The fairy tale life of a provocative, immature woman who is now extremely wealthy, is not all that it seemed. She makes friends with the wife of the doctor her husband has brought in, who has a sad past of her own. Unlikely friends, they get to know one another and an intriguing story unfolds, keeping you turning the pages. It's hard to put down, taking you on some very emotional paths. A nice long read. Good lessons and examples of Christian faith. Actually a timeslip, years later a new couple encounters their houses and do research as to what happened to them all.

I received this book free from the author and NetGalley book review program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

The Earl's Courtship of Hope: Historical Christian Romance (Brides of the Regency Book 2)

Greatly entertaining characters. Sophia is trying to get through her last season without getting married. Her subterfuge usually worked quite well to repel. Richard is a rogue. Her overhears Sophia's opinion of him and decides to change, apologize to all the women he had wronged and set things right with them. Sophia and Richard get together in the most interesting, twisting journey. The delightfulness of them both and the slightly steamy romance make it hard to put the book down. Genuine feelings come through and enrich the experience. Very, very good read.

Clara and the Cowboy by Erica Vetsch

Fast moving western. Clara came home from finishing school hoping to get closer to her friend Alex. He doesn't feel worthy because of his past but had been brought to faith by Clara and her mother. Romantic struggles evolve as a plot is gradually uncovered about the disappearance of cattle and horses from the ranch. Nicely told story that unfolds beautifully. Easy-to-read, romantic, wonderful-characters, original, realistic, page-turner, entertaining.

More from Erica

Did you, like me, grow up watching westerns on tv? I watched often in reruns as the heyday of the TV Western was waning about the time I was born. But I watched Gunsmoke, The Big Valley, Bonanza, Have Gun, Will Travel, The Rifleman, Wagon Train, The Virginian, and more.

And so grew my love of the old west, of cowboys, cattle drives, frontier justices, and rolling tumbleweeds.

I also read westerns. Zane Grey, Louis L’Amour, Abel Shott (Yes, that was the pen name of the man who wrote the series called Solo Strand: The Silver Kid.) I was a firm believer in The Code of the West.

So, when it came time to write my own ‘cowboy book’ I took much inspiration from the screen and the page.

Clara and the Cowboy is the story of Alec and Clara, a cowboy and the ranch owner’s daughter. There’s cattle rustling, gunplay, good vs. evil, a damsel in distress…all the best parts of western classic lore. I had such fun writing it, influenced by those who had written the genre before me.

The setting was chosen (Southwest Idaho) because of a series of books I had read as a teen, written by Glenn Balch, about a ranching family near Nampa, ID. I’ve never been to that part of the US, but I felt as if I had because I read those books (many times!)

As I look back on the hours I spent watching classic westerns on tv and reading western fiction, I’m reminded of the impact they had on my life. How they taught that good and evil exist in the world, and that it takes bravery to stand up and do the right thing. I learned that honor and integrity do not come without cost, and that actions have consequences.

Who would have thought that watching a rerun of The Big Valley would instill a desire to embrace the cowboy culture through my own fiction?

I hope you enjoy reading Clara and the Cowboy, and that perhaps it takes you back to your own childhood of rooting for the man in the white hat to get the girl he loves before the credits roll.

Grow - the movie

Fall plans just got bigger. #GrowTheFilm is in theaters October 17!

Tickets are on sale now. https://growthefilm.com/

Delightful! What a cute movie, really great for the whole family. Love grows and a place to belong for Charlie and her Aunt Dinah. The story is fun and interesting all the way through, involving others in the community as well. We highly recommend it. A non-scary fall movie.

A good wholesome story that we really enjoyed watching.

Here's a fun workbook to go along with the story - LINK.

• Watch this fun fall film with your family - Grow is only in theaters starting October 17!  Buy tickets today!

• A story of love that grows. At the heart of GROW is the touching bond between a prickly aunt and her spirited niece. Their journey shows that sometimes the family we need grows where we least expect it.

• The most colorful cast of characters. From curmudgeonly farmers to over-the-top rivals, every character feels like they’ve stepped out of a cozy, autumnal fairy tale. Charlie’s pumpkin “Peter” isn’t the only thing full of personality—the whole town bursts with quirky charm.

• Pumpkin spice in film form. Opening October 3, GROW is perfectly timed for fall and Halloween season: cozy, funny, and a safe, whimsical alternative to scary movies.

• “Wild gardening” meets whimsy. Charlie’s affinity for plants will inspire kids—and kids at heart—to dance to their plants and care for the environment.

Synopsis: In the Pumpkin Capital of the World, stoic farmer Dinah Little (Golda Rosheuvel) begrudgingly takes in her spirited niece, Charlie (Priya-Rose Brookwell). But Charlie isn’t an ordinary child—she has a special knack for connecting with plants that quietly reflects her own longing to feel just as seen and loved. As the town prepares for the annual pumpkin-growing contest, Charlie sets her sights on winning. With the help of quirky Arlo (Nick Frost), plot and pumpkins thicken as rival
growers pull every trick in the book. Will Charlie and Dinah’s unlikely entry stand tall against the fiercest competition the town has ever seen? As her pumpkin grows, so does her bond with Dinah, and together they learn the real prize is joy, laughter, and family.
