Book Brush Review

https://bookbrush.com/

This is a great tool for making memes for your book reviews (or ads for them if you are an author). It gives those who do not own Photoshop the chance to create 3D composites, with a large range of background images and a good group of options to display the book. It's easy to use. There are quite a few different size options to fit specific social media requirements, as well as a custom option. I especially like the video option - it gives it that little extra. There's a free version or you can upgrade for more options. Pretty impressive!

"So many stories. In this pocket of a harbor where broken lives, like waves upon the shore, are gathered up and held close."

Set in Maine starting before WW2, on the coast, in the uppermost corner, near Canada. A rugged, weather worn area of strong people. This is a story that grabs you right in the first few lines, and gives you a perfect image and feeling of what is to follow. Layer upon layer of beautiful life, heartbreak and again beauty. Such depth of feeling. Weaving through time - back and forth together. Perfectly woven. A story so richly told that you can almost see God's hand around them. Christian Historical.

4 Brides Adapt When Marriage Plans Go Awry
by Susan Page Davis; Linda Ford; Vickie McDonough; Erica Vetsch

Neat set of stories set in the 1800s. Christian Historical Romance. Girls and guys who are looking to marry, to make a better life for themselves in America. So well told, you slip easily into their lives and feel their struggles. In one a bride arrives to find her match in jail, in another a bride who wasn't, then found a new place to fit in, then in another an Irish girl who got tickets to go to a groom by mistake. Barbour books are always a wonderful read!

The Artful Match by Jennifer Delamere

"Julia, with her supposedly clear-eyed view of the world, had learned that sometimes the "sensible" path wasn't the right one after all."

Victorian Christian Romance set in England 1881. Third in the series, this is about the third sister Cara. An accident while she was working as a governess makes her decide to go to London and rejoin her sisters, who she then learns happen to both be away.

"She'd seen many times at the orphanage that answers to prayers could come out of nowhere, and hardly ever in the expected way."

Instead she meets Lanford, second son of a Lord, who is a painter. Cara has painting talent, and joins him and his friends. The Earl himself comes into the picture when he pulls Lanford away, and Cara finds that she can positively influence their Ward, a 7 year old girl. Even though she's made a vow to never be a governess again. Which she isn't now - she is a guest. Sort of. Artfully intertwined story with interesting character situations that pull on your heartstrings. Great Christian messages.

"Why hadn't anyone told her, when forcing her to plod through dry tomes for school, that some books could actually be fun?"

“Always happy to share my wisdom that the work will always be there later, but the moment is only here now.”

The first of a new series, skillfully written as always by Olivia Newport, expertly blending the present with past events. In smooth transitions, Mari fled her family and stops at the Inn in Colorado, where Jillian and her father Nolan connect with her. He is a lawyer and expert mediator, Jillian is a skilled genealogist who dives through history, going the extra mile to make a truly complete result for her customers. The back story of Eliza in Memphis in 1878, a wealthy socialite caught up in a yellow fever outbreak, is gently unfolded throughout. The significance of this is gradually revealed. A master of time transitions with an interesting current setting, including a search for the perfect coffee cup. Easy five star rating.

Three Women, Three Love Stories, One Country Divided
by Judith Miller, Nancy Moser, Stephanie Grace Whitson

"He led us step-by-step, closer together."

During the Civil war, wounded soldiers were sent by train to a hospital in Chicago. The train made several stops, one was in Decatur. The townspeople discovered that these wounded and their caretakers were hungry and their clothes were in tatters. The women of the town decided to meet each train of wounded and take baskets with food to the men, later adding knitted socks and quilts. How this evolved through these women is a very interesting story, as is the story of some of the men. When you have men and women of faith meeting each other in a way they never would have otherwise, it makes things interesting too. I'm always amazed at the depth of a story within a collection like this. This holds three somewhat connected stories of love, all completely different, just as in life. Become immersed!

"Never are we promised an easy life, but we are promised that when we rely on Him for strength, we will have what we need to face our challenges.”

Vividly plunge into this story on the first pages! The author is a great painter with words, each brushstroke revealing the character's surroundings and feelings in great clarity. A Christian Regency set near the Moors, full of personal struggle and lurking danger. Also one of wealth, loss and perseverance. Excellent read that will keep you engaged and turning those pages. This is a first in a new series - can't wait for the next one!
